The Cooking Realm

I've been getting into cooking alot recently. It's exciting, has a multitude of directions, and is (currently, for me atleast) always tasty. I've always done the breakfast/odd meal for myself, but now I'm exploring in different directions, going off of whims (like my, "I feel like stuffed peppers" episode a few days back) and modifying recipes. Obviously, this has also come about because there is no cafeteria food alloted for the next three weeks (yay!) and so I have a food allowance, which I am taking full advantage of. There will be NO cup of noodles, here!

The bell peppers have orzo, stewed tomatoes, and sauteed tofu stuffed in them, as well as red pepper, dill weed, allspice, garlic powder and some fresh oregano from our porch garden :)

yummy.

And as for breakfast this morning...
Hard egg, sauteed tofu, and a bagel... with most of the same seasonings as the last meal.

My parents would be so proud ;D

The Human Race has Again Been Saved

Um hi. If you know anything about me, you'll know I'm a Daria fanatic. My favorite character is Jane, and I personally rejoice at every quip and intelligent exchange in this show, especially at the expense of the popular kids, as this most honestly reflects my highschool experience.
So imagine the pitch of my squeal as I divulge this from inside packing material last night. My girlfriend is so good to me. Before we were dating, we became besties over this show--- and over long conversations about the patriarchy. Oh, some things were meant to be.
Now I dont have to wait for Youtube uploads and faulty audio, and yell at the monitor as Viacom -shakes fist- has removed more seasons from my view. Now I'll just have to adjust to everything being not-backwards; as you know, copyrighted material is posted as a mirror image to hinder monitors from finding it and taking it down as effectively. To those who fight the power, fight on.

It's nice for a little sale email to be in the inbox early in the morning. Today, for many reasons, will be a good day.

I was SO angry a couple of days ago...

Ok here it is: my first ranting blog post. Are you ready? I know you can barely conceal your excitement.
Today I got in a huge fight with my father and in the process he verbally attacked me (like usual) and Charlene. Big no-no on that one, as he learned very quickly. To anyone who reads this: please don't mistreat the ones you love. They are more important than anything else and do not deserve to be treated harshly just because you are mad. No excuses.
Second: Everyone has had a staring problem today. Sure, ok, I have a foot long blonde mowhawk and a yellow bandanna in my pocket and a wallet chain and black skinny jeans. Ooh haven't seen an individual before? Shit. It's not like my hair is spiked, or I'm screaming my radical ideals on a street corner. Calm your shit people. I have had five people blatantly stop what they are doing to watch me. I have been mildly accused of stealing from Walgreens. Really? Tell me that had nothing to do with my appearance. Tell me.
As I am writing this one of my ex girlfriends is walking by me, obviously judging me and glaring all the same. So I just told her off. Right in the middle of a library lobby that sort of echoes. Don't start anything with me today. I'll finish it.
On top of everything, the love of my life is also having a bad day and I fear more than anything that I can't cheer her up. Here's to hoping.
I am trying to keep my head up in a world that is constantly oppressing my attempts to stretch my wings.
Most importantly however, I am keeping in mind that I am unique. I am an individual. I am a riot grrrl who will change the world. And I will NOT be silent.
